Chapter 4 = The Collective Intelligence

Ruyee still held it out. Not knowing what was in store for her. FlyGuy dashed towards her with phenomenal speed. When Ruyee had a bomb exploded in her head. Not literally. She had an answer, an explanation to why he could fly. FlyGuy grappled the stick with his right arm, bending it and twisting it into his, immobilizing Ruyee's attack, when he used his left hand to thrust a punch into Ruyee's gut, making her fly off and crash onto the ground quite close to the edge. Which means quite far back. Everyone gasped.

'I'm not stupid, I can adapt my fighting style anytime I want, overcoming difficulties in the blink of an eye,'

When suddenly, a jolt of energy rushed into all of them. Everyone. Even those unconcious blinked awake. Against thier will, they began to think as one.

'The collective intelligence, a new power to my addition, this would make the Survival Game more interesting, don't you think?' said the pool of water. Above it was a floating image of the 24 students and FlyGuy standing on the clearing at the edge of the island. The eight hooded figures at the far end of the hall merely nodded.

The 24 children stood up slowly, there was a big group of them directly in front of FlyGuy, then the rest who were unconcious were scattered all around. So in fact, he was kind off surrounded. Ruyee noticed a critical point missing. When FlyGuy attacked her, he didn't have to somersault off a tree or anything to stop himself, he just stopped there. But, wasn't he inertialess? FlyGuy was watching Ruyee intently.

'I'm surprised you can still stand girl, but you won't be in awhile more, you and all of your friends, you're wondering why I didn't need to stop myself right? Well, as I was saying earlier, I can adapt my fighting style. I used the force of my punch to stop myself.'

'Smart, but not smart enough,' Ruyee whispered.

'Bastard, you'll never defeat us,' Lucas yelled. Everyone moved away from him, terrified that FlyGuy would take them all down as well. But each of them felt like they were refreshed with energy, refreshed with intelligence.

'Oh, stubborn are we? You're dead, boy,' grinned FlyGuy, in a blink of an eye, he flashed toward Lucas. And then, in that blink of an eye, FlyGuy gasped. The boy wasn't there anymore. 'What the!' he yelled as he flew toward a tree and crashed heavily into it.

'Its no use, FlyGuy,' Ruyee said as he got up. 'We know your capabilities, and I know a little some some they don't know. You can't float because of your powers, you can float because of the gravity that you are bound to,'

FlyGuy's eyes widened.

'On your planet, the gravity is much higher than the gravity here. So you can float here rather than on your planet, as for your punches and kicks, they are powerful because of your momentum when dashing,' she said calmly.

'Tell me girl, how do you know all these?' FlyGuy whispered as he stood up, facing 24 students.

'That is not the question, idiot,' she said venomously. 'The question is whether you'll get out of here alive or not,'

FlyGuy roared, then dashed at Ruyee. He was gathering momentum in his left hand, ready to beat the crap out of the insolent girl. When suddenly, his world turned aury. Kai Siang appeared directly beside Ruyee, then running up, stick in hand, he blocked FlyGuy's path using the stick and putting it out horizontally. FlyGuy's eyes widened. 'He must have realized that vertically I can stop the stick, but horizontally, I can't grapple it,'

His neck slammed cleanly onto the outstreched stick as his lower body flew upwards in a sort of somersault, his neck the fulcrum. After two spins, Kai Siang took out the stick and he began to flop toward the ground, when Ruyee ran and leaped, using his body as a stepping stone, she stomped hard on FlyGuy's back as he was still falling, accelerating his fall even further. FlyGuy slammed hard on the ground then rebounded back up slightly. When suddenly, Lucas appeared, running fast and sliding downward in a sort of sidewards trip kick, thrusting it into FlyGuy's gut. 'For Lawrence,' he whispered. He yelled then spit out blood. And then, he began floating upwards.

Everyone was relieved as they saw him float upwards, he couldn't stop flying in one direction. So when he's floating up, he couldn't come back down. He's bound to float forever.

'Its great isn't it?' a voice echoed out from everywhere. Everyone was on thier guard again, even though they only survived a short-lived victory. Thousands of questions was filtering through thier minds. How could they have done it? What was the feeling telling them to attack where, how and when? How could they have beaten someone like FlyGuy?

'The power of the collective intelligence. I wanted that fool off Beacon anyway, FlyGuy or whatever his name is, he is not fit to become one of my priests, who are in the Survival Game by the way. There are roughly five hundred participants left, as at the beginning of the Survival Game, people have already found thier opponents. Now, it gets harder, traps and wild creatures have been set out all over Beacon, you must protect yourself from them and fight the others at the same time,'

There was a pause.

'The power I have granted all of you is the collective intelligence and a fraction of God Strength each. All of you have heightened in sense, strength, speed a little, and the collective intelligence has allowed you to think as one. Ideas that appear in other minds will automatically merge into yours, and then you will act out as the plan suggests. Sort of like indirect telepathy. You are like the mannequins of your souls, all 24 of you have now one mind, a collective mind, a collective intelligence. But still, you have to kill each other in the end,'

There was The Lord's familiar laughter. 'Happy Killing,' and then the voice stopped.
